Why Heaven?
Updated: April 22, 2025
Because God truly loves His people! He has prepared a place in His universe where His people can thrive in preparation for the next age when Jesus and His church (see Why Born Again?) will reign over the nations. When our eternal spirit leaves the body, it dies. That is, God does not leave us in the grave – we do not “see corruption” (Psalm 16:10) – but we are taken to heaven. Our spirits do not wander the earth having to continue to endure this fallen world, but we finally get to experience a place where God’s will is done: heaven. It is where God’s throne exists. It is a place where angels worship and receive assignment. It is where all of those who died trusting in God can be found today, including all those who died in innocence (that is, without personal choice — the unborn, for example).
Jesus has been getting it ready for our arrival since His ascension. Given how much He loves us and how limitless His resources are, it must be a mind-blowing place!
