These resources have proven to be very useful when seeking God through Bible study. If you know of any other helpful tools or sites, please let us know at tellme@thewordfirst.net.
Biblegateway.com: You won’t need to subscribe to get an easy-to-navigate reading view of many popular versions. You can easily read multiple versions side by side by simply clicking the “Add
Parallel” icon. They also have a mobile app.
YouVersion Mobile App: This popular app is great for reading in multiple versions. You can create your own notes and share them with other users.
Blue Letter Bible: This is a very powerful tool for diving into the original languages. One can drill all the way down to the tenses and lexicon entries for every word. You can read the original languages right in line with the King James Version.
Bible Gateway Plus: Subscribing to Bible Gateway Plus allows you to turn on interlinear mode, where you can see the Hebrew/Greek words right along with the NIV version. You also get access to extended commentaries and dictionaries.
Bibleatlas.org: This collection of maps is the most complete collection we know.
Bible Gateway Keyword Search: This seems to be the best free online Bible search tool available. You can search multiple versions — up to 5 at once — for words, partial words, or exact phrases.
Blue Letter Bible Timelines: The Chronological Map shows where Bible persons appeared in history relative to well known secular events and figures. For example, the timeline shows Malachi as contemporary to Socrates and Plato. Be sure to read the disclaimer box at the far left of the Chronological Map.
