Why Fun?

Updated: January 19, 2026

Are Christians allowed to have fun? Oh yes, and the best part is this: the fun never has to end.

Many people are indulging in “fun” things that aren’t so fun afterward. The Bible says that there is a built-in penalty associated with that kind of fun. It is called death. Bummer.

What Jesus offers is a life that is truly free from both religious bondage (that might make you wish you were dead!) and the harmful, hurtful ways of the rest of the world that lead to death.

Once you get a revelation of life in God’s family, you catch of glimpse of just how fun life can be. You start to live life the way you were wired to live it, doing the things that are fun for you. Not just moments of fun, but a whole life of adventure walking with your heavenly Father. Even though you might “walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death” (Psalm 23), you can face it bravely knowing that the Lord walks with you.

Yes, it can be scary. But can’t “scary” be fun when you know God is going to make it all turn out right for you? What’s the worst that can happen? So you die… and instantly find yourself with the Lord in a matchless paradise. That, dear Christian, is still a win!
